2024 Georgia Annual Registration Season is Here!

2024 Georgia annual registration season is here.

It's that time of year again! If your estate plan or asset protection plan includes one or more Limited Liability Companies (LLC), you must pay a Georgia annual registration fee of $50 to the Secretary of State each year to avoid the administrative dissolution of your LLC. Georgia Secretary of State’s annual registration season for calendar year 2024 runs from January 1, 2024 to April 1, 2024. You will receive a notice in the mail about the annual registration process.

Watch Out for Georgia Annual Registration Scams

Each year at this time, like clockwork, scammers mail out official-looking notices designed to trick you into paying fees you don't really owe. We wrote about these scams in this blog post, and it's worth revisiting if you want to make sure you don't fall for these schemes.

If you want to be absolutely sure you're going to the correct site to file your 2024 annual registration, this is the link to use.

To keep your entity in active/compliance status with the Office of Secretary of State, state officials encourage you to file your annual registration online with a credit card at https://ecorp.sos.ga.gov, as soon as possible. The Corporations Division accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and ATM/Debit Cards with the Visa or MasterCard logo for online filings. If your annual registration and payment is not filed by the April 1st deadline, you will be assessed a $25.00 late filing penalty fee and/or your entity may be administratively dissolved or revoked by the Secretary of State. If your LLC is part of your estate plan or asset protection plan, you DON'T want this to happen, so make sure to file before the deadline.

The State of Georgia has provided a how-to guide to help you navigate through the system and lead you through the annual registration process. You can access this guide on the Corporations Division’s website at https://sos.ga.gov/how-to-guide/how-file-annual-registration. For additional assistance, contact the Corporation Division at corporationswebmail@sos.ga.gov, 404-656-2817, or 844-753-7825.
