How Do You Celebrate Halloween?

How do you celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year? We posed the question to several Kimbrough Law staff members. Here's what they said.

Allie Adkins, Associate Attorney

Allie Adkins and her husband, Cameron, dressed up as Blippi and Ms. Rachel at Pumpkin Palooza. Here they are at last year's event with their niece and nephew.

For Halloween our church usually hosts what is called “PumpkinPalooza” – it is a free community-wide event for families. We have a Trunk or Treat, food, and games. It is usually the Wednesday before Halloween. I help out at this event every year! On Halloween day, we usually spend time with our nieces and nephews (who are always dressed in the cutest costumes), hand out candy, and celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday because she is a Halloween baby!

Robin Lacrimosa, Life Care Coordinator

I love Halloween in my little town! They close off the main street through town and there are so many people that come to trick or treat! The church does a trunk or treat and hot dog dinner and a few homes set up a haunted trail and a fall carnival. We even have Beetlejuice who wanders around the street. The town makes special shirts for the occasion and they have contests for the best decorated house. It is a really big deal. The best part is you see everyone you know and you see so many fun costumes. It is such a good time! Of course now that my kids are too big to trick or treat with me, I go and help hand out candy with friends. Halloween has always been one of my favorite things about living in my little town of Statham.

Warnie Riley, Outreach Coordinator

I usually spend Halloween handing out candy at my house in my neighborhood. We have a lot of children that come through and I always love seeing all their costumes and talking to the children. This will be the first Halloween without Reuben, our English bulldog that we had to put to sleep last December. Reuben was always a big hit in the neighborhood because I always made sure he was dressed up for the trick or treaters and they would come in and give him lots of love. Brad and I also attend “Wild Rumpus," which is usually held the weekend before Halloween. Everyone dresses in costume and goes to downtown Athens for a huge parade. We all walk in the parade and show off our costumes, and then visit all the food and drink vendors set up along the downtown streets. It is so much fun!

Elise Wilson, Firm Administrator

We Trick-or-Treat in our neighborhood with family and friends. This year we will have 10 kids and we will go around the neighborhood with the golf cart and trailer. And then we are having a Halloween Party kid style on Saturday.
