What Are We Reading? Here's What’s on Our Bookshelves 📚

One of the things we enjoy about working together at Kimbrough Law is discovering the interests we have in common, and the ones that might surprise each other!
So, we recently asked our team a simple question:
What are you reading these days?
Maybe it’s the novel you can’t put down at the end of the day. Maybe it’s a book that’s teaching you something new or making you look at the world a little differently. Or maybe you’ve discovered a great audiobook that makes your commute or morning walk fly by.
We asked everyone to share what they’re reading now—or something they’ve read recently that they’d recommend—and tell us a little about why they like it.
The answers gave us some new additions for our own reading lists, and we hope they’ll do the same for you.

I love to read. I like fiction, nonfiction, beach books, mysteries, books about running, travel books. There isn’t much I won’t try. Recently, I went a bit crazy at the library and checked out several books that looked good and now am frantically trying to read them all before they are due back 😊. A book I read long ago that has always stuck with me is Lovely Bones. It’s quite sad, but really powerful.

I don’t have much of an opportunity to sit down, much less read. From sporting events multiple times a week, to chasing three kids in whatever direction they’re in, I’m lucky if I can keep up with reading my text messages!

I love the novelist Ann Patchett – she is such a wonderful storyteller. I recently read her newest book, Whistler, which I really enjoyed. My favorite of her novels is Bel Canto. I’m currently reading the classic science fiction novel Dune by Frank Herbert and loving that too!
